Headed out to Mission Bay, making it in about 3.25 hours. The wind got up to about 12 knots as we arrived. We lounged around in Mariners Cove for a couple of hours, heading off at 3:30 p.m. Halfway home, the wind completely died so we had to motor sail for the rest of the trip. Such a pleasant day!

Super fast sail out to Buoy SD and back in record time! We had a steady 10 - 12 knots of winds and surfed back on a frisky storm swell, hitting eight knots at times. Fun day!!

Headed out past Point Loma where we practiced a quick MOB drill to extract a drifting mylar balloon from the ocean. Mission accomplished! We had great wind the whole time, what a nice way to spend Easter Sunday.

We set sail on a cloudy overcast day with pretty decent wind. As we hit the open ocean, we found ourselves amidst a massive pod of dolphins. No sooner was the excitement of the dolphins was over, when two gray whales swam past us. We could see sunny skies up ahead, so we continued South deciding to sail to the Coronado islands. It was beautiful, breezy, and sunny. We popped up the table and had lunch as we floated past all of the islands. We turned around just in time, returning to the dock as the sun set on a perfect day!

We were expecting a warm, leisurely cruise around San Diego bay, but soon the winds picked up to over 20 knots. Sea spray drenched the foredeck passengers, who continued to stay up front laughing hysterically. Iris handled beautifully, giving me absolutely zero weather helm when close hauled. Coming back, we clocked along at over 7 knots on a beam reach, with max of 7.53 and 8 knots over ground. Quite an exciting day!
