On our last day back to Sottograndi from La Linea, we had just to get past all of the boats in Gibraltar and then we had some lovely sailing where we put the code zero out and the genoa and the mainsail so we had all three sails out at the same time. It was spectacular.

After having a nice lazy morning walking around Souter, which was absolutely beautiful, we then set sail midday across to La Linea. Before we got to La Linea, we went into a lovely little cove and had some food and then we continued into our moorings at La Linea port, where we had a lovely evening of food, festivities, and a few drinks. The weather was a lot calmer than the day before so we enjoyed the sale.

So the conditions started off reasonably level but as we got over into the Straits of Gibraltar they started to get quite choppy so it was a fairly brisk day. We did see some dolphins, which was quite nice, and we had to dodge a few large ships. Not the best of journeys across. It really was quite windy and it really was very choppy but we enjoyed it. We said goodbye to Sotagrande and it was our first time in Ceuta

We started the day off with Lindsey learning all the basic ropes and fenders and knots and health and safety on the boat and where all the flares and first aid kits were. She wasn't doing her comp crew. She was just doing a one-day brush up, we then took the boat out so that Manuel could show us how the boat sailed because we had a reasonable wind and that was good fun. We saw some more dolphins so that was a nice treat. We did a little bit of manoeuvring around Sotagrande inside the marina as well.
