Burrard Inlet to Hastings-Sunrise, Canada
Took Boomerang out to test the engine after fixing an overheating issue. All went well, so I sailed around the lower end of the Arm. Between the narrows currents and the rail bridge traffic, I didn’t get back until 8:30pm.

Maplewood to Hastings-Sunrise, Canada
Light winds today, but the first voyage of 2025. Decided to take her out single-handed when my crew bailed. Practiced mainsail reefing, tacking and docking. Dry cool weather with flat calm water in a relatively protected inlet. Lots of tanker traffic though.

Light, but steady winds. No rain, but squalls viewed out in the strait. We had some long tacks at 3-5 kts, but had to dodge a couple of tankers and tugs with barges. Crew: Jose and Satchi

Light winds. So, we motor sailed up to Bedwell Bay and anchored for a pleasant lunch. Michel Drouin was crewman extraordinaire.

Light winds from 3-5 knots. Hazy, but quite warm. Despite the light wind we were able to get some decent speeds over by Spanish Banks out to beyond the point - up to 4-5 knts. Crew: Michel Drouin

Hastings-Sunrise, Canada
Light winds in the early hours of the trip, then a brief SE squall with increased wind (10-15 knts), then increased winds from the west that we harnessed for 5.5 knt speed until a jammed jib winch threw us into a bit of chaos. Started motor, headed into wind, lowered mainsail, then unjammed winch while motoring back to port. Crew: Mary Chinni
