Excellent trip around the island from Portsmouth and back. Through the Solent westwards expected the wind to veer more north as per forecast no chance! So just made the tidal gate beating up to Hurst in F5/6, and then significant following seas once round the Needles, with improved sea state once in the lee of St Cath’s. Total 12 hours, 5.6kts average, 73nm. Never once felt unsafe in our Moody 36 in some pretty spicy conditions.
