Mercury to Portsmouth

Round the Island 

Breezy start. I helmed under motor towards north channel. sails up just out of Hamble reach. 
good conditions for first part, tide flooding. 
wind picked up, two reefs went in...5 gusting 7, we turned back, vang came apart... sails down returned under motor, 1.5m swell, bumpy!

Mercury to Portsmouth return

lovely sunny weather, hardly any wind, so much motoring 

finally got sail up enough to practice mob

Mercury to Port Solent

breezy. cloudy to start, giving way to sunshine in the afternoon. 
F3 in the morning, solid 4 by lunchtime, gusting higher

swell picked up to about a metre 

sailed out with both sails. dropped mainsail at lunch, anchored off Hillhead, back with the Genoa, but much tacking and gybing in Southampton water before heading up the Hamble still under sail!
