F3-F5. Awesome sail reaching downriver and close reaching back on DE. Reefed in marina (good idea) before heading out. Winds between Penna Landing and Walt Whitman were howling but manageable. Beat to close to naval yard. After we were in one of the boats couldn’t start their engine and was towed by another boat. Used a very good set up red spinnaker sheet used as tow with most of line on towboat person on Stern of tow boat, able to hand or toss line to dock on return to Marina. It was very smooth and safe.

F3-4. Great sail south of Walt Whitman against wind and tide. Quick run back with last of flood.

F1-2 variable. Practiced man overboard figure 8 under sail and power. Wing and wing. Air brake using main. Slow and go. Mooring pickup under sail. Moored for lunch. Light airs after so returned to dock.

CT. F2-4 variable N to E. Nice day despite abundance of traffic early. Current kept us near Petty Islands which complicated MOB training. Better to move S before starting. In future have helmsman do traffic check and( have outgoing helm give report. ). Wind off dock on return. Executed nice powered approach at speed to spot before rafter boats.
