Have been sailing since 1987. I actually only bought my first boat May 2020, 28’ San Juan. I am an avid scuba diver and retired paramedic. Most of my cruising is solo due to my wife’s being uncomfortable with the water. My favorite ports of call are, Sidney Spit, Friday Harbor and Roach Harbor so far. I plan on further adventures such as Desolation Sound, Barkley Sound, and eventually circumnavigating Vancouver Island.

The template rose to 30°C sunny and clear. Nice motor home dock. Diesel engine ran amazing.

Nice sunny day 24°. Motored out of Harbour and there was a pod of dolphins. Sails went up and enjoyed the slight wind. Lots of powerboats who do not respect rules of the road. Dropped anchor at Sidney Spit for lunch.

It was a wet rainy day. The guides were amazing and the zodiac operator did a great job handling the boat in rough weather. She was extremely knowledgeable it her ancestral history. Mairi enjoyed herself even in the rough conditions returning back to Moresby Camp.

Great day fishing on John’s 21’ boat. Was a little rough with rain. We caught one halibut, three springs, and one coho.

Had a great trip to Salt Spring Island for Daddy/Daughter cruise. When we got to Ganges there was no slips to tie up to so tied up to commercial fishing dock and ran ashore to the market so Francesca could buy her Salt Spring Island Gin and I get Mairi some Salt Spring Island soap. Sadly didn’t see any marine mammals but an eagle flew 5’ from my mast over my boat.

A beautiful sunny evening. Decided to go drop trap. There are a multitude of traps just outside of harbour so figured I would give her a try and pick it up tomorrow morning on way to Salt Spring Island. Engine stalled a couple of times when leaving dock but no incidents. Just have to remember to connect auto tiller so I can bring in fenders.

Went to drop the crab and prawn trap. It started to rain so I decided getting it was not worth getting wet over.

Dale adjusted my throttle so took boat out for test run. No stalling and engine ran smooth.

North Saanich, Canada
Beautiful sunny day. Engine needs some tweaking of the idle, stalls out when in low idle. Otherwise engine ran great. Had lunch at Brentwood Bay Resort Marina, I got a green worm in my chicken burger🤢. Picked up crab traps from Deep Cove, two red rocks. Prawn trap only had three prawns, however, I didn’t have proper bait just cat food.
