Canada

Spent all my summers on a sailboat as a kid from the age of 24 months to 14 years old. Worked as a professional Chef is restaurants and hotels across Canada. Now that retirement is calling, I want to get out there and explore the open waters. Passionate about sailing, food and culture.

Need power!

Light winds today. Changing spot today to explore more of Koh Kood. Motor-sailing to charge the batteries. A/C not working so the fans worked overtime and we also used the induction plate to cook pasta. Clouds in the morning also impaired our energy efficiency. Fishing line got caught in a crab pot. Lost my nice lure 😖

Christmas sail

Rough night in a very choppy bay. Short sail to reach a more protected anchorage. Nice wind that reached 20kn apparent. Also big seas with up to 2 m waves. Early at the new spot for lunch at the Deck Bar.

Final voyage of a 10 day perfect vacation

Return trip All good things must come to an end. After an amazing snorkelling experience in Koh Mak, we head north for Koh Chang. Unfortunately no wind today, motoring the whole way. Little swim stop at Koh Ngam. Docked the boat like a boss!

Slowly coming back up to Koh Chang

Wind died on us soon after we left. We carried on as long as we could. When boat speed went down to half a knot, I called it quits

Anchoring for the night

After a great seafood lunch, we carried on to our anchorage for the night. Another fishing village with a beautiful Buddha statue.

Koh Mak to Koh Kood

10 knots when we left Koh Mak this morning but very quickly died on us. Tried very hard to sail but we had to call it quits. Now anchored in Captain Hook’s bay ready to explore. Supposed to have a nice coral reef.

Manual Entry

Good wind 10-15 kn. Down wind most of the day. Good swell 1-2m. Sophie didn’t like. Finally got the code 0 out and made a good 6kn of speed. Grabbed a mooring for a while at Koh Rang but the swell was too much. Picked up everything and headed for Koh Mak. Anchored for a couple hours but the wind is 180° off from Windy app. Hope it will change soon so we can sleep.

First solo sail in Thailand 🇹🇭

Light winds 8 to 10 knots. Solo sailing for the first time and worked up the guts to pull out Mr Big Guy (Code 0). Had a couple of nice gusts 💨 manage to get up to 7 knots. Picked up my first mooring ball ever and solo on top of that. Awesome day all around.
