A typical week: Meet and Greet Sunday 6pm under the plan tree in Bianca’s cafe. Monday morning safety brief and class on how to prepare the yacht for sea and mooring procedure. The rest of the day will be spent in the bay of Gibraltar which is a perfect sail training exercise area. You will do drills, like sailing a circle to fully understand the different points of sail, tacking, gybing and sail trim. Overnight in Spain, tapas ashore. Tuesday: Competent crew prepare the yacht while Day Skippers do the tidal navigation/ passage plan. Wednesday crossing Straits of Gibraltar to Sotogrande, La Duquesa or Estepona. Perhaps 4 hours night sail from sun set or sunrise. Thursday sailing along the Mediterranean coast to marina Sotogrande, La Duquesa, Estepona or Alcaidesa. Friday returning home to bay of Gibraltar with dolphins. Overnight always marinas but sometimes lunch at anchor and time for a swim. There is a lot to cover in the week, with Man overboard drills, boat handling skills, engine checks, sail changes, rules of the road, mooring, seamanship, VHF and weather.
