From the remote coral expanse of Kiritimati, SV Sea Dragon heads north-east toward some of the Pacific’s most isolated atolls before making landfall in Hawaii. This 1,400-nautical-mile expedition links wild, little-visited islands with one of the world’s most iconic sailing destinations. We will call at Tabuaeran (Fanning Island) and anchor off Palmyra Atoll—an extraordinary wildlife refuge of lush islets and thriving reefs. We will be able to go around the Atoll in our new expedition RIB and are in the process of submitting our application to USFWS to be able to disembark on the Palmyra Atoll itself. These remote stops, conditions permitting, offer rare glimpses of untouched Pacific ecosystems. The final leg carries us across open ocean toward Oʻahu, where the skyline of Honolulu and the welcoming docks of Waikiki Yacht Club signal the completion of a major Pacific passage. You’ll also get to Sail a remote Central Pacific expedition route Visit Tabuaeran and sight Palmyra Atoll Build confidence in offshore navigation and long-range planning Stand watches on a demanding ocean leg Celebrate landfall in Hawaii after a rewarding passage Sailing with Panexplore means you’re not just along for the ride. You’ll be part of the crew—standing watches, trimming sails, navigating, and learning as you go. Whether you’re building miles, confidence, or simply a deeper connection with offshore sailing, Panexplore voyages are designed to be immersive, educational, and rewarding. Our onboard cuisine is inspired by the places we sail through. Our galley follows a local & ocean-inspired philosophy—prioritizing local produce, coastal flavors, and fresh catch when the ocean provides. We can cater to specific diets, just let us know! > Key Details Distance: 1,400 nautical miles Cost: $13,190 Dates: 25 Jun – 9 Jul 2027 (16 Days – we gain 1 day as we cross the International Date Line!) Day 2: Safety briefings & departure We weigh anchor following safety briefings and set course north-east into open Pacific waters. Days 3–7: Toward Tabuaeran Offshore sailing with watch systems in full rotation. Possible approach or stop at Tabuaeran, conditions permitting. Days 8–12: Palmyra & open ocean Continue toward Palmyra Atoll, navigating carefully around reef systems before pressing on toward Hawaii. Days 13–15: Final leg to Oʻahu Sustained offshore sailing toward Hawaii, arriving into Waikiki Yacht Club by the evening of Day 15. Day 16: Disembark in Honolulu After a final clean-down and debrief, guests depart the vessel in the morning Please note: This sailing adventure is weather-dependent.
