Tips: Don’t run at a broad reach until the man is near even with the mast. Head up sooner while the man is at 1-2 o clock or 10-11 o clock, to avoid running into irons too soon. Keep the man 1.5 boat lengths to windward in low wind, 3 boat lengths to windward in high wind on approach. Then make a hard turn into irons as you blow the foresail to end up in irons.
