NauticEdSteady and gentle southerly, strong current from incoming tide made progress slow. Aside from drama surrounding dinner quesadilla chicken being spicy, a pleasant time was had. Oh, E threw a shoe overboard in the mooring field and it took three tries to rescue it.

Gentle breeze, pretty weak closer to the bridge. Whisker pole action slightly more graceful. 4th and 3rd place of seven. Wasn't feeling well prior to sail but revived by sail and swim.

Steady breeze out, gentle back. Anchor and swim, lovely temperatures. Swept up on the deck and cockpit. Untangled mooring lines and improvised a fender for float. Main sail only while the pulpit is being repaired.

15 kn with some gust, got two races in. Finished second to last and second to first. Had a nice swim afterwards as we watched the storm pass to the east.

NAM-CONUS and HRRR models vindicated, got the 8-10 kn forecasted (never saw the 14 though). Heard about whales, dolphins, etc out past Breezy Point, but with the southerly wind, incoming tide, and little time we instead stuck with our beach swimming plan. First heave-to had bow pointing toward Jamaica Bay. We took turns with a dive, noticed our 2kn drift was carrying toward land, and headed back out and away. Tried the heave to on the opposite tack with much better success. Half knot of drift meant we could each dive a couple times before heading back.

Steady 12 kts of wind, sailed out to Brighton, anchored, and swam briefly. made it back about 30 minutes later than planned!

15-20 kts of wind had the race committee cancel, but not before we lost our jib halyard on hoist. Had a fantastic sail on reefed main alone but didn't swim with Uforia. Nice club prepared dinner afterward.

Forecasted 10 kts and we got less than 5. Barely made it out the mooring field and to the end of the channel. We were then rewarded with many dolphins frolicking about. Finally heaved to with enough distance to swim. Barely caught the tender last call at 8:45. First time sailing with friends Max and Janele.

Gentle but steady breeze on the way out. Aaron joined us and handled much of the anchoring for our swim. Wind died in the channel and the last 5 minutes took 40. Would not recommend that swimming spot, especially in outgoing tide.

Storm encroaching, only one race started and finished, came in fourth. Not sure how we lost the final downwind to two boats with less sail area.
