NauticEdNot too cold, fair amount of sunshine. Caught some gusts on the way back in. Had to row out to the boat and back. lost a pin on the gooseneck on our way back in (upwind tacks?) but Daniel and Andy kept us sailing.

First solo voyage. Blowing 15 kts on the mooring, flew the storm jib. Made it out of the channel on the same tack as launch while eating chips. Headed towards Coney Isle, heaved to and ate my lunch sandwich. lost a plastic bag and returned to rescue it. Turned around to head back but made little progress downwind against strong current and little help from headsail. Oddly, the flag on Manhattan Beach showed 15 kts, but I didn't get any of it until I returned to channel.

Gentle breeze to start, but favorable direction for navigating the channel on few tacks. Made the most of becalming half way in and made great time heading back with a steady 8kts of wind. Had full family + Anya & Joey. Somehow botched a balloon rescue mission.

Lovely wind, lovely sun, gentle seas. Water is cooling, swim ladder worked well enough.

Went out with Aaron and his bum elbow. Wind was 8-12kts, Aaron convinced me to fly the storm jib rather than #2 Genoa. I had trouble tying the tack of the jib, maybe I'll try a sheet bend next time. Hoisted the main as we fed the slugs, found the downhaul this time and got that taught. No reef line rigged, didn't regret it. Wind calmed on return, landed first try. Rolled main requires two sets of hands on either end of the voyage, not a fan.
