tried to fix swing keel. briefly accomplished. tying knots in steel cable underwater is hard. took Vang and main sheet blocks apart and restrung them. added extra block to main halyard so I can sail single handed and drop main in a storm now. need to add rollers to shrouds so jib sheets will roll across easier. boat can point significantly higher with the jib isn't stuck on the shrouds. rolling furler is way too hard to turn. I swear it's going to explode or snap the lines one of these days.

first time racing with my son. He's stupidly good at grinding the jib. Very happy to father son team. Invited back to finish the season which is the best evidence he's doing well.

single handed in a storm. beautiful sunny day became clouds, storm and high winds. wasn't making any headway until I finally unfurl the jib for the first time. wow scary. fast. white caps picked up and had to sail the sliver of wind between irons and capsize. rudder kind of a suggestion more than a direction.

second place on our category, 4th place of 34 boats overall from the GTYC club entire fleet. finally got grinding / jib work DIALED in. 7 tacks in a row no skirting needed. Later deck meat duty and manually flying Genoa and main in low wind wing on wing. Once again rebuilt a broken Vang while underway. Getting good at spotting/ knowing the course marks. I could stand to learn better trim without being told, but the muscle memory parts are set. heeled over so far at one point I was standing on the life line while grinding sideways. got to use info about how the wind works in a storm front to go faster. mixing FAA and USCG training. 🤓⛵💨 good day. very happy. many new friends.

winds were just about too much for this little boat, but thankfully handled it ok

transport small cruise ship from TC to Petoskey.

racing relentless tonight. beautiful boat. super chill crew. barely enough to get the boat moving, but we had fun. great skipper and family. switched roles between winches and spinnaker as needed and learned proper way to fold sails on this boat. Captain has solo sailed more races and miles than I can probably hope for in this lifetime.

the truck blocker thing fell out, so I wrapped the mast until the entry slot was blocked. Feel very sailor way to fix things 😁⛵ also added lines and cleats for the traveler. wind very light getting better at single handing, drifting to the mooring and running around like crazy for a bit met some other people with our same boat! instant friends 😁

fixed the sails so they go up and down super fast. used all my extra climbing carabineers to do boating stuff. got the roller furling working finally, though still needs to spin easier, it's good enough to sail now
