Wow. Conditions got everyone feeling under the weather about sunset on the first night. Kids were absolute champs. One ate half their dinner, lost it, then ate the other half, before they both laid down in n the door of the cockpit while I napped down below.

2 knots of current made it hard to sit idly and wait for the Wrightsville beach bridge to open. However, it was pretty cool to go through the bridge we’ve driven over so many times and gotten such a kick out of knowing it was the ICW below and that we might theoretically travel there one day.

We set out early because we were worried about high winds causing rough seas but we had an easy journey up to a beautiful anchorage. Even if it’s cold, looking out over the open water today I remembered how very many days I had to look longingly out at the water while we were stuck on the hard or at dock and I am SO grateful to be making progress South.

It was a looonngggg day. A beautiful crossing followed by having to traverse the Pungo canal in the dark to catch the right window tomorrow. Colin was amazing. I am so tired.
