Started this leg of the journey early to get out of a rough berth. We had to motor the first half of the journey due to very light winds. Once the wind picked up we sailed for an hour directly downwind with the sails set to wing-on-wing. The last couple of hours coming across the lower Clyde was on a broad reach with enough wind to make sail sail interesting. Finally put back in Largs after a wonderful adventure.

Campbeltown to Fairlie, United Kingdom
Left the island with very light winds from the port aft quarter. As you can see in the attached picture we had quite a tidal current across us. The photo shows 1.4 knots water speed while we had 6.4 knots over ground. Made for interesting navigation as our course was about ENE and we had a heading of due north. Once around the Mull of Kintyre we had a easier navigation.

Church Bay to Campbeltown, United Kingdom
Started out from Port Ellen expecting to have to motor all the way due to lack of wind. Wind came up about 5 miles out and continued until the last couple of miles. Had 8-15 knots and partly sunny. Added a couple of photos of the eclipse last night.

Port Ellen to Church Bay, United Kingdom
Absolutely the best sail we have had on Dipper. We had everything from 10-20 knot winds had a cross current at times up to 1.5 knots and current wi us at times up to 2.5 knots giving as much as 8.5 knots over ground.

Ballycastle to Port Ellen, United Kingdom
Tour boat ride from Ballycastle to Rathlin Island. Beautiful sun shining day. Found a great new place to come visit on the sailboat.

Ballycastle, United Kingdom
Very rainy day and no wind so we motored the whole way, but with 2-3 knot current it made a very quick and pleasant voyage. Weather started clearing once we tied up in Ballycastle Northern Ireland.

Set out from Largs on a beautiful day. First part of our journey we were joined by Peter and Callum Divers. Unfortunately they would only be with us for the first two legs of the journey.
