Over the last two decades, Antigua Sailing Week has become one of the biggest events in the international sailing calendar. It attracts some of the top Olympic yachtsmen in the world, giving us the opportunity to compete against them. It’s also one of the most fantastic ways to visit Antigua and take advantage of an island-wide party. The Antigua Sailing Cup features four days of challenging racing, perfect for crews looking for high-level competition. Antigua Sailing Week follows with a return to traditional point-to-point courses, with each day concluding at a different scenic destination around the island, followed by lively after-race socials. Widely regarded as offering some of the best sailing conditions in the world, both events deliver exceptional racing and unforgettable experiences. This yachting tradition began in 1967 when Peter Deeth, owner of the Inn Hotel at English Harbour, and Desmond Nicholson, owner of the Admiral’s Inn, formed a racing club. They raced every Sunday morning in their Sailfish. With no finances initially, the Club relied entirely on volunteers. As interest grew, they received planning permission to build a clubhouse at Falmouth Harbour. In 1972, the club adopted its new name: “The Antigua Yacht Club.” Things have moved on quickly since then!
Antigua Sailing Week is one of those regattas every sailor should experience at least once. World-class racing in perfect trade winds, followed by the sort of dockside parties that Antigua seems to do better than anywhere else.
Day 1: Arrival in Antigua and welcome on board at noon. You will be met by your skipper and other team members, followed by a safety brief and the regatta programme. The day will include getting to know your crew, cleaning and organising the boat, and making final preparations for the regatta. Day 2: Registration and Welcome Party

Day 4: Race Day 2 starts from Nonsuch Bay Race end prize giving and party at Little Jumby Island
Day 5: Race Day 4 starts from Little Jumby Island Race end prize giving and party at Ffryes Beach
Day 6: Race day 4 starts from Ffryes Beach Race end prize giving and party at Nelson’s Dockyard
Day 7: Before departure, we kindly ask everyone to help with a general cleaning and tidying of the boat.
Our Mission is simple: Provide fun, safe and rewarding sailing opportunities at an affordable price. Not everyone can afford a racing yacht or has friends or family that can. This should not be a barrier to entry. We keep costs low by involving everyone in the process and showing them the reality of what it takes to sail and race offshore. Our goal is to get as many people as possible to participate and leave having had the experience of a lifetime. We believe in putting safety first and allowing everyone to experience offshore racing in a supportive environment. We’d like to finish top of the leader board but the individuals on board will always come first.

We aim to be part of the race in the action, that said we are uncompromising when it comes to safety and getting everybody involved. We pride ourselves on getting every team member to perform every role on board including helming. We spend more time with those who are less experienced during training to get them used to perfecting new skills. Once the race starts the focus shifts slightly to allow the more experienced members to get something from the experience, however, we still ensure that everyone is an active member of the team and takes on every role.
