After several years finishing in Dartmouth, the Morgan Cup is once again headed to Guernsey in the Channel Islands, a rare but exciting return. Organised by the RORC in partnership with the Royal Thames Yacht Club, this is one of the more distinctive races on the calendar. Expect a fast-paced 18 to 24 hour offshore race across the Channel, navigating through tidal streams and around the Casquets TSS, with a likely finish in sight of the dramatic Castle Cornet guarding St Peter Port. Guernsey offers a warm welcome with its deep-water harbour, charming cobbled streets, and excellent restaurants. It’s the perfect spot to unwind after a rewarding night of racing.
There's something about taking part in an offshore race with a destination finish. In this case, you start in the Solent and finish in Guernsey - lovely! After a quick stop over, it's back to the Solent and off home. A winning weekend
Our Mission is simple: Provide fun, safe and rewarding sailing opportunities at an affordable price. Not everyone can afford a racing yacht or has friends or family that can. This should not be a barrier to entry. We keep costs low by involving everyone in the process and showing them the reality of what it takes to sail and race offshore. Our goal is to get as many people as possible to participate and leave having had the experience of a lifetime. We believe in putting safety first and allowing everyone to experience offshore racing in a supportive environment. We’d like to finish top of the leader board but the individuals on board will always come first.
They offer a range of small group and authentic sailing experiences, from Caribbean cruising to Ocean racing, at a budget to suit most.
Day 1 We’ll assemble in Port Hamble Marina at 9:00am to prepare for departure. Before setting off, everyone will also take part in cleaning and organising the boat to ensure she is ready for the journey ahead.
