SHIP SHOW SAIL LOG Date: Sunday, May 24, 2026 Duration: 4.5 hours Harbor: Jackson Park Harbor Crew: Paola Ferrario, Justin Bowen, Anna Rios Conditions: Wind: 4-6 knots. Calm, light air day on the lake. Boat Status: Minor surface scratch on the bow from docking. Cosmetic only -- Puppy confirmed no damage. Docking was the challenge of the day; conditions weren't the issue, just still building that muscle memory. Highlights: - First time using the Magma grill underway -- worked perfectly. Spare ribs on the lake. Enough said. - Continued working on sail deployment; making progress and ready to attempt the Genoa next outing. - Close encounter with a powerboat that failed to yield. Horn blasted twice; they altered course. With 4-6 knots there was no ability to maneuver under sail, so the horn was the right call. Handled well. Next Steps: - Practice docking approach and slow-speed control - Attempt Genoa deployment next sail - Keep the grill in the rotation Mood: Shaken briefly by the dock scratch and the powerboat, but overall a beautiful, calm, happy day on the water with family.
