Windy, with some strong squalls and bouts of rain on the IJsselmeer. Passage through the bridges & locks went extremely smooth and swift, both at Amsterdam and IJmuiden.

Wind: usually < 20 kn, however spells of 30-35 kn Sea: slight, occ moderate Light clouds, dry Even with flat seas, the boat has the tendency to start slamming heavily with a self-reinforcing pitching motion, making it uncomfortable. Bows are too light, making it very sensitive to the sea state - and when plunging into the water, the boat slows down strongly - hence a very low avg. speed. Beam reaching on a flat sea must be nice - but we didn’t have these conditions…
