The RYAA blustery day on the water - a bit of practice then a tough start and hard work beating up the Solent in 16-24kt gusty winds. A cheery crew then enjoyed the breeze downwind and home. Not a great result in the race, but a fun sail nonetheless.

East Cowes to Bursledon, United Kingdom
Left Sesula raft and headed for the blue lagoon. Anchored swam and then moved down a bay for lunch with Sea Fizz. Left and out the sails - picked up a bit of wind in the later afternoon and had a lovely sail on the auto pilot experimenting with the sail trim. Motored home just in time and won the parking prize!

Maslinica to Marina, Croatia
Left mid morning - a lovely sail across to look at the submarine tunnel. Anchored with line ashore for the first time. Then headed for the rendezvous sailing at first but ran out of time so bombed it on the motor into the wind. Slap all the way!

Stari Grad to Maslinica, Croatia
A lovely day sailing across to Stalingrad, docking in a strong cross wind was pretty stressful but we made it. Good to have a good sail after a day stuck in the Marina the day before due to the Bura.

Milna to Stari Grad, Croatia
Gathering storms meant we high tailed it into port flying the jib but also gunning the motor. We could see lightening behind us and the wind was building.

A motor sail around to a lovely bay where we swam. Anchoring not right first time but we found a spot eventually.

A lovely afternoon. We hoist the main only in 12-14kts of wind on the beam and had a beautiful cruises across to Masilinca. First Med mooring since last year in a fairly brisk cross wind and it went fine. A relaxing evening followed.

Veliki Drvenik to Maslinica, Croatia
A better morning that we expected with reasonable breeze. We motored out of Agana, unfurled the Jib and made 5kts round to the Blue Lagoon. Too busy there so we went to the next bay and anchored for lunch. A lovely start to the week. Sunsail 42.3 - which is a Beneteau 42.1 I think.

Marina to Veliki Drvenik, Croatia
A beautiful day. Left on the mid Flood stand and caught a reasonable wind to Thorness where it died so we motored into Newtown Creek and anchored for lunch and a swim. Glorious. Tide against us on return so motor sailed back until Gurnard when the wind got up again. Unfurled the jib for a leisurely sail home. A hot day.

An amazing day. A long beat up to the needles in good breeze but overcast, then round the back in a freshening breeze with a bit of sun - kite up for a bit from St Catherine’s - then round the corner and a long fetch home in a strong wind - which culminated in a thunderstorm as we approached the finish and the wind died! Took us ages to tack over the line - but we came 8th in our class of 21 and 90th overall out of 835.
