From a slip to a Mooring

Winds were light out of the Northeast, about 5 knots most of the way. Seas were 1-2 feet. skies were mostly sunny. The few scattered clouds. We stopped for fuel at the fuel block and took on twelve point five gallons of diesel. We had previously filled both water tanks at our slip. We sailed with a full genoa to keep the boat from bobbing side to side. Entering the Georgetown mooring field, we picked our way through shallow spots and morde boats to finally tie up to our Mooring ball number twenty eight.

Leaving the Anchorage, it was light winds out of the south going through white horse cut. There was a strong outflow with the tide of 4 knots. There were large waves in the cut of 5 or 6 feet. After about 500 yd, we were in smooth water with continued light winds of 6 knots out of the Southeast. About an hour into our trip, the wind picked up clocking more south 8 to 10 knots. Another hour later, we were seeing winds out of the south at thirteen knots. we were sailing with a full main and full Genoa. I was seeing six and seven knots of boat speed towards our destination. 10 miles from our destination, we encountered a heavy rain. Squall, where winds were up to 15 knots briefly out of the west, we rolled up the genoa and we continued directly to our. 4 miles from the Marina, we could see large ocean swells crashing on the beach. I was very concerned about entering the cut into the Harbor. But it turned out to be a smooth ride in through the marina's cut. We're tied up stern two on the starboard side in the marina, with no incidents.
