Started sailing in 2017 when we bought a West Wight Potter. I took ASA 101 and we sailed her until 2023 mostly on the Sasafrass River. Started racing in 2023 to present. In 2024 I took the weeklong live aboard ASA 101,103,104 course in the San Juan Islands on a 37 ft Beneteau. We purchased a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 37 September 2024

First evening cruise with nice wind and a beautiful sunset

6-12 knots of wind. Quick trip out past the fish sticks then a tack back towards green can 1. Had a fun downwind sail, gybeing all the way to gratitude marina with Greg at the helm.

Light wind day out with dad

Very light and variable wind but low humidity and very comfortable in the shade. We flew the spinnaker and gybed it twice. Was much smoother with an extra pair of hands but I still ran the sheets wrong. Note to self…lines go over the jib sheets when the jib is out. Also, run the lazy sheet outside of the forestay

Rock Hall to Kent Island

2 firsts today. Motored under the bay bridge and stayed in a marina for the night as transients. Light variable winds. 3-9 knots. Sailed most of the day across the bay. Saw some skates but no dolphins. Turned motor on just before the bridge to get to the marina before the dockhands left.

Light Wind Day with the Kids

5-9 Knots of wind out of the south. Nice sail and Ally, Sean, and Po got to helm under sail. I tried the spinnaker today First of the season. Took a few tries to get all the line run properly.

Friday Nite Race

Started out with a little wind then called the race early because the wind died. Used it as spinnaker practice.

Playing around the Chesapeake with a bit of wind.

Winds from 9-18 with choppy seas. We went across the sand bar for the first time today. No problems. Didn’t see lower than 7.6 ft. We went north for the first time towards Pools Island. We made 6-7 knots for much of the day. Getting more comfortable with some spicy conditions.

First Friday Nite race of the season

Light winds flew the spinnaker on the second leg with thunderstorms brewing behind us. Great to be back on In The Red but we were definitely a little rusty.
