Fabulous trip to Cherbourg, including proper night sail Wednesday-Thursday. Some reefing and a good sea. Caught Spring tide 9 miles from port - max 1.8 knots for a while! Return trip was great. 10-12 knots WSW but made good progess, with a little intermittent motor sailing as well. Gennaka used, and went up the mast to feed through broken lazy jack lines. Fabulous company and excellent meal in Cherbourg.

Some excellent wind and sailing. Lots of MOB, dropped anchor in Osborne Bay, thoroughly checked Neil out as a Club Skipper. Amazing instruction from Nigel, and great company with Chris, Karen and Kevin. A lovely night sail back into the Hamble and a very late drive home!

lovely day out. warm enough, flat seas, wind swinging and dying at times but good fun overall. Upwind to Swanage, lunch then back motoring. Moored up at Studland for tea and coffee. Then a bit more sailing as wind picked up a bit and back with the flood motoring from bar bouy inward to harbour as wind properly died later.
