Harbour Sail

Took out the Pandora with Caroline and Roman. Unfortunately, the motor died three times in the approach and in the western gap. We decided due to the high SW winds that it might be best if we sailed only the harbour in case we had any more engine problems on a return trip back through the western gap. The sailing was good and we explored the new mouth of the Don River. Multiple tacks later we returned back to the slip (the engine worked for once).

XT

XT - We went out the western channel with a proper motor but came back due to high wind and choppy water. You definitely didn’t miss out on anything!

Friday Social Sail

12 kn winds from the E. Sailed out into Humber Bay where there were very big swells but moderate, sustained winds. Sailed halfway around the Island before motoring in the rest of the way.

Race Night 6

Strong easterly wind. 3-1-3-3-3-1. After the race the motor broke off its wooden clamp. Luckily, Jon saved it and was smart enough to pull the kill switch. We hoisted it on the boat and sailed in with the jib, dropping it a few boat lengths away from the dock.

Big Wave Sail

Crewed with Tim and Rosy. The Lake had some 2-3 ft waves and strong 28 km/h gusts from the SW. So we only raised the main sail and kept the jib down. Reached 4+ kts at times. No fair weather sailors out this day.

Lowest Possible Winds

Very low winds from the south east. Undocked the J but once it was facing the harbour there was smoke. The clutch was left out. Turned the motor off and restarted it. Had to bear away hard to avoid the dock. Helmed the rest of the way. Very low winds but we got the spinnaker to fly a different moments. Docked it flawlessly for the third time.

Race Night 5

Very challenging patchy low winds. Got caught in a lull that killed the steerage for a few minutes. Came 3-5-5-4

Social Sail 3 - Light Winds

Light south winds, fun crew. I learned the 'Art' of sailing with the Arts! I even docked it too.
