Fender swing before lunch and then mooring in a bay for a swim before return to Vlicho.

Transition

Dragged anchor in high wind in Fiskardo requiring 1 hour driving circles in harbour.

Aided by Finnish man and relaid at very shallow mole in harbour entrance.

Required swimmer to untangle anchor in morning from Super yacht who had laid across entire harbour.

Beautiful broad reach toward Sivota. Wind 10 knots dropping to 4. Hove to for lunch and then proceeded to port.

Sivota channel 8 guided us onto pontoon nearest entrance. Laid anchor of centre. This results in crooked after against quay or pontoon.

Low wind on leaving Ay Euphemia motored to Ormos Polis.

Beautiful bay on Ithaca. Great for swimming and paddle boarding. Rubbish cave (sign posted).

Motored out for lunch to avoid wasps.

Good afternoon breeze from North. Sailed to Fiskardo upwind.

Fiskardo not busy (Saturday changeover)

Quay directly east is too shallow. Ended up parking stern to captains corner. No issues.



 

Ionian 25: to Fiskardo via Ormos Polis

Very poor wind <4 knots until reaching Ay Eufimia where offshore wind picked up to 16 knots.

Left Kioni late after leisurely breakfast ashore and snorkelled with lots of Saddled Seabream. Conducted fender swing off of southern Ithaca flat calm with beautiful warm water.

Berthing simple. Contacted harbour master ch 74 who directed us in to the first available upwind berth. Hi wall meant ramp could not be lowered. Dropped pick 3/4 boat lengths out.

Dinner at Sea Rock just out of town. Excellent.


Ionian 25: Ithaca to Ay Eufimia

Dead calm in the morning departing Kastos.

Motored straight to One House Bay for a paddle and to see the pigs.

Anchoring easy but congested.

Good sailing with afternoon sea breeze however Transition sails very poorly to windward (no better than 45 degrees to wind), making upwind progress difficult.

Moored stern to in outer harbour at Kioni.

Quite deep for initial anchor drop 25 m required.

Ionian 25: Kioni via Atakos One House Bay

Nice sail around top of Kalamos. Achieving 6 knots from 14 TWS. Gusting 20.

Difficulty Anchoring at both NE Kastos anchorage and Kastos itself.

Lost hold and abandoned lunch spot. Very nice for swimming.

Fairly poor holding. Dropped in 8m (shallower in northern half of bay) required 60m of chain for hold.

Let boat fall back on wind (no engine) until final 10m.

Ionian 25: Sail to Kastos

Fairly windy, had to reach port by 5 pm so left sails down.

Reversed in with lazy line next to the ferry. Guided in by Taverna Owner.
