Training sail

Had a nice 8 kn day, beautiful sunset. Took our time and talked through everything. Somehow left a pair of gloves, a water bottle, and a radio behind!

Labor day kid sail

First time sailing with kid(s) as the only sailor. J invited friend L and her dad R for their first ever sail. Everyone did great with the conservative sail plan, storm jib and reefed main. We hove to briefly, saw DDB and went over to say hi, each boat with a pair of kids. Kids lost their minds on the channel coming home, stressful lead up to landing. Snapper derby yielded almost nothing across the entire dock, labor day party another family favorite. Had to leave around 5 to relieve babysitter for E.

The point is to be breezy

Reefed with #2, we were perfectly planned, had a great sail to the point with a quick dip while hove to. L did most sailing, A supplied the food.

Don't scare the Kat

Breezy on full sails meant our guest was scared. Luckily we had plenty of beam reach and downwind. No swim but got to roll in long high swell for a minute. L does most of the sailing.

Morning family sail and hot dogs on the grill

Got started about 45 minutes later than planned, couldn't quite make it under the bridge, but we also lost wind so for the better. Anchor and swim, got both kids in the water. Kat joined. First time we anchored stern to wind as a result of a strong current. Anchor was a bit stuck, took a while to free from the smelly sludge. Hot dogs on the grill were great, should do that more often.

Fred and Chloe's first time at MYC

Forecast was strong, so started with single reef (still no headsail) and a harbor tour. Wind eased a bit and we headed out comfortably. Fred and I swam on anchor. Shook out the reef for downwind back in. Excellent landing by Chloe.

Don't scare your guests!

Lively breeze with full sail meant we were on a sporty sail. Unfortunately, our guest was a bit frightened. Sorry Jeff.

Family sunset sail

Steady and gentle southerly, strong current from incoming tide made progress slow. Aside from drama surrounding dinner quesadilla chicken being spicy, a pleasant time was had. Oh, E threw a shoe overboard in the mooring field and it took three tries to rescue it.

MYC Wed night race

Gentle breeze, pretty weak closer to the bridge. Whisker pole action slightly more graceful. 4th and 3rd place of seven. Wasn't feeling well prior to sail but revived by sail and swim.
